May - Aug 2023

During my stay at Auto-Owners, I worked on both ends of the stack, utilizing modern libraries, languages, and frameworks to complete requirements on time, and with low tech debt.

While following the Scrum framework, my team of business analysts, QA engineers, architects, and other developers were able to accomplish our goal of building tools to streamline labor-intensive maintenance tasks performed by agents.

After our project was implemented, agents were able to spend more time doing what they do best: signing new policies, and driving the business forward.

University Innovation Fellows

Aug 2022 - Dec 2023

University Innovation Fellows (UIF), is an organization based at Stanford University that aims to teach students about design thinking, and various other entrepreneurial skills.

As part of the program, I completed extensive training focusing on design thinking and agile philosophies.

One takeaway I had was the philosophy of not approaching problems with a "solution first" mindset. Instead, I learned to observe that tendency, and work towards identifying unique solutions. This is something I've been able to implement in my own software brainstorming phases, helping me generate more creative and effective solutions for both common and uncommon problems.
